Rowing machines are often, mistaken for machines designed for that are for the super fit only. This is not true, many older people enjoy and benefit greatly from them, as can anyone. The reason is that they are low impact, they are easy to use and they are an incredible workout.

Rowing machines are all about using the correct form. Many people use their back too, much or keep it curved, this is only going to lead to injury. Get a gym instructor to show you how to do it right. You shoould aim for a smooth and complete rom on the machine.

Basically a rowing machine consists of a  seat,  foot rest, a pull cord with handle, and a wheel that keeps you moving, while you are exercising.

The best thing I feel about Rowing machines, is that they work every part of your body in a smooth motion. The core muscules, ie the back, abd arms, and upper legs, get a great workout, and there is also a brillant cardio element as well. It will build up incredible endurance.

Rowing machines will take time to become comfortable with. You will have to havea good level of fitness, so that you can use the machine safely It is important that you do not slouch, press your chin to your chest, bend your knees out, or strain unnaturally. If it is too difficult take a break, maybe work on your fitness another way for a while, and get someone to show you the proper way to work a rowing machine.

Before you start your session on the rowing machine, it is important to be well warmed up and to have performed a good ten minues stretching, and have raised your body tempature and hear rate. Rowing is great fun, be careful and make sure that you have someone to show you the ropes and spot you, for technique at the start
